Breaking News

When it was originally released in 2005 on the Playstation 2, Fumito Ueda's Shadow of the Colossus was a technically ambitious game.
The game revolves around a sword-wielding hero named Wander on his quest to resurrect a young woman by travelling on horseback across the vast "Forbidden Land" killing 16 giant colossi. The game has new textures and animations that make it look great, as well as 4K HDR support for people with 4K TVs and PS4 Pros.

PS4 Pro owners without a 4K TV can also run it at 60 fps in "performance" mode. This is great for those of you who've wanted to revisit the game in 4K or for first-time players looking to see what all the hype is about. You can see seven minutes of the remake in action in the video above.

It’s been over ten years since Shadow of the Colossus first debuted on PlayStation 2, and it’s only gotten more popular. That’s why there’s a brand new PlayStation 4 version coming next month, completely remade from the ground up by Bluepoint Games. The same folks that brought us Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Gravity Rush: Remastered took on this “colossal” challenge (sorry) to bring the game to a new audience with great-looking visuals and much more. It looks like they succeeded.
Now you can check out the first 15 minutes of gameplay via YouTuber Arekkz to see the game in action, and it’s certainly impressive. There are some particularly awesome lighting effects and massive improvements to both Wander and Agro that bring The Last Guardian to mind. When you get to see a Colossus in the video, you’ll be wowed by the attention to detail on the enormous creature. Even if you played the original game on PS2 and grabbed the PS3 version too, there’s so much more to see with this remake that you’ll probably want to go ahead and get it as well. It’s seriously petty amazing.
Bluepoint previously stated that the company’s goal was not only to modernize the game, but to “add on top” of the original, using the old game as a template. If you’re interested in seeing if they accomplished this or not, you can get your hands on the remake when it’s out in the wild as of Feb. 6 on PlayStation 4.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is getting its first downloadable content drop on Jan. 23 in the form of The Hidden Ones, and there’s a new trailer celebrating its impending release.
It looks just as gritty as you probably expected, and Bayek is in rare form. If you enjoyed playing through the main game, there’s a lot more here to see.
The Hidden Ones is a mission that takes place four years after the ending of Origins, which expands upon the Brotherhood and its burgeoning growth, stopped in its tracks by Roman forces in the Sinai region.
You’ll get things started with a free quest to all players called “Incoming Threat” that lines this new plot thread out nicely. It’s meant to act as an introduction to the DLC that even players who don’t decide to purchase can enjoy.
