iPhone X 'screen burn': This is what Apple has to say

New DELHI: It looks like Apple iPhone X may be in the same boat as Google Pixel 2 smartphones. The Cupertino-based tech firm has updated its iPhone X support page to reveal that it too may witness screen burns and colour tint issues over time.

Apple says that this is something expected from an OLED screen. The company also added that it has worked on the OLED screens of the iPhone X to reduce the effect of OLED burn-in as much as possible.

"If you look at an OLED display off-angle, you might notice slight shifts in colour and hue. This is a characteristic of OLED and is normal behaviour. With extended long-term use, OLED displays can also show slight visual changes. This is also expected behaviour and can include "image persistence" or "burn-in," where the display shows a faint remnant of an image even after a new image appears on the screen," said the support page.
