Xiaomi has upgraded its Mi Notebook Air with Intel's latest eight generation processors. The new Mi Notebook Air with the latest Intel processor is now live on the company's China website.

According to the listing, the company has packed 8th generation Intel i5 and i7 processor on two variants of the Mi Notebook Air 13.3.
The company launched the first version of the Mi Note Air back in August 2016 as a competitor to the iPad Air. The Intel i5 variant is priced at 5,399 Yuan which amounts to Rs 53,900 at the time of writing. The company did not disclose the price for the version with the i7 variant.
According to a report by GizmoChina, both the variants will come with 8 GB DDR4 RAM and 256 GB PCIe SSD and custom AKG speakers as in previous models. The company has just added an FHD display with “ultra-narrow bezel”. The company has also added Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics card with up to 2 GB GDDR5 instead of the
GeForce 940MX in the last version that had just 1 GB of GDDR5.

Mi Notebook Air also comes with a fingerprint reader on the top-right corner of the trackpad. The report also indicates that the latest model comes with an upgraded cooling system with the help of the ultra-thin metal blades.This ensures that the temperature of the notebook is lower along with a higher performance.

The latest version will come with 14.8 mm metal body with 1.3 kg weight. Last but not the least, Xiaomi claims that the device can last for up to 9.5 hours on a single charge.

The new Mi Notebook Air with the latest Intel processor is now live on the company’s China website and will retail for 5399 Yuan, which is nearly Rs 53,000 plus on conversion. Xiaomi’s Mi Notebook Air has so far been limited to China and there’s no word on whether the company will bring these to markets like India.
In terms of changes, the Mi Notebook Air now has the eighth generation quad-core Intel Core i5 processor. The earlier 7th gen version had the core i7 processor and core i5 versions as well. The new Mi Notebook Air also comes in a Dark Gray colour option from now. Other specifications of the Mi Notebook Air remain pretty much the same.
The laptop comes with a 13.3-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (166 ppi), and a wide viewing angle of 170-degrees. It retains the slim all-metal body with 1.3 kg weight and 14.8 mm thickness. The Mi Notebook Air also has NVIDIA GeForce MX150 for graphics, 8GB DDR4 memory and 256GB PCIe SSD for storage.
Mi Notebook Air comes with the promise of 9.5 hours of battery life.  There’s also 2GB GDDR5 memory for graphics. The laptop also comes with fingerprint identification support as well just like the previous version and comes with hard disk expansion option for another SSD. There’s also a web camera with 1MP resolution and 1280 x 720 video calling.

Xiaomi first launched its Mi Notebook Air Windows 10 laptop in 2016, and also introduced a 4G LTE version of the same. The 7th generation Intel Core processor versions were launched in 2017 and had a starting price of 4,999 Yuan for the 128GB version, while the 256GB storage model was priced at 5499 Yuan.

Xiaomi has upgraded the 13.3-inch variant of its Mi Notebook Air laptop in China. The upgraded variant now comes equipped with the latest 8th generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Seen as direct competition to Apple’s MacBook Air, the Mi Notebook Air was initially launched by Xiaomi in July 2016. The latest variant is up for pre-order at a price of CNY 5,399 (roughly Rs. 53,800) on the website with delivery starting January 24. The laptop runs Windows 10 Home Edition. It is also available in a new Dark Gray colour.
As we mentioned, Xiaomi has launched the latest variant of the 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air for China. The laptop now comes with the new Intel Core i5-8250U and Core i7-8550U processors. The notebook was upgraded with the Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics card with 2GB GDDR5 DRAM back in July last year.
Apart from the above mentioned specifications, the Xiaomi 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air has 8GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB PCIe SSD, and expandable hard disk support. The Core i5 model comes with a maximum core frequency of 3.4GHz, while the Core i7 variant comes with a maximum clock speed of 4.0GHz.
 
The laptop has a 13.3-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with a 170-degree viewing angle, 300 nits brightness, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has Bluetooth 4.1 support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac bands, and a one megapixel front camera for video calling. In the battery department, the laptop is powered by a 40 Watt Li-Ion battery with a claimed battery life of 9.5 hours. There is a USB Type-C port which support fast charge. In terms of connectivity ports, it has a USB 3.0 port, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The notebook has a fingerprint sensor to wake up or unlock the desktop.
