Huawei P20, P20 Plus And P20 Lite Leak with Triple Camera With Facial Recognition , II Huawei P20 Tipped to Come With 40-Megapixel Triple Camera Setup, iPhone X Like Notch

Things are shaping up nicely for 2018. We’ve got Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ headed our way. The smartphone pair will allow Seoul to build up on its design successes with the Galaxy S8 lineup. They will also introduce the much needed dual camera on the Galaxy S lineup. Samsung did not introduce the popular feature on its flagship smartphones last year. Instead, it chose the Galaxy Note8 to official bring dual cameras on high-end mobile offerings. But while Samsung looks at dual cameras, Huawei’s a step ahead. The Chinese manufacturer’s P20 is a regular feature of the rumor mill, and is expected to feature not two, but three rear cameras. Today we’ve got more information for the device. Take a look below for more details.

Fresh Huawei P20, P20 Plus And P20 Lite Case Renders And Images Show More Of A Rumored Triple Camera Setup And Facial Recognition Similar To Apple’s True Depth Module

If there’s one thing that Android is known for, it’s specifications. Prior to the latest design upgrades ushered in by the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi, manufacturers ensured that their devices did not lack in terms of high-end features. And now, Huawei breathes fresh air into this. The company had a good smartphone run last year, gaining market share. And now, it looks eager to consolidate on these gains.
Today we’ve got more images and renders for the company’s upcoming P20 lineup. They boost earlier claims of a triple camera setup, but this is not the only feature catching our eye. If you’re an avid follower of everything smartphone, remember that Huawei teased a facial recognition system remarkably similar to Apple’s True Depth setup for the iPhone X. Today, we see more of this feature as well.
As you can see, we’ve got a lot of images today. These show the full extent of Huawei’s P20 lineup. The manufacturer will launch three devices, namely the Huawei P20, the Huawei P20 Plus and the Huawei P20 Pro. Out of these, the Huawei P20 will house a triple camera setup, rumored to feature a 40MP resolution. The P20 Plus on the other hand will feature a 3D facial recognition setup, similar to the iPhone X. However, before you get all jittery, the cutout looks smaller than that on Apple’s $1000 smartphone.
Which makes us wonder on the efficacy of the components that it will house. After all, Apple chose the bare minimum size for its front cutout, and will Huawei beat Cupertino? Sounds unlikely. Nevertheless, looks like we’re in for a great year for flagships. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned. We’ll keep you updated on the latest.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Images of cases allegedly made for the Huawei P20 have been leaked
  • World's first triple-camera handest comes with 40-megapixel resolution
  • Triple camera setup is said to be vertically aligned
Huawei will be launching its latest lineup of smartphones next month and at least one of the models will come with three rear cameras. The Shenzen-based manufacturer will announce the successor to the P10 flagship smartphones, which is expected to be named Huawei P20, next month. Meanwhile, smartphone case makers in China have leaked images of cases allegedly made for the Huawei P20, showcasing a triple camera setup as well as an iPhone X-like notch in the front.
Huawei was expected launch its new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) to be held at the end of this month. However, the company has reportedly sent press invites for a launch event that will take place in Paris on March 27. Reports have suggested that Huawei has been working on three new smartphones - the Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Lite, and Huawei P20 Plus - and might launch them at the event. Meanwhile, leaked images of cases of one of these smartphones, posted by SlashLeaks, suggest a vertically arranged triple rear camera setup.
The leaks revealing details about the camera is in line with some of the earlier reports. Famous tipster Evan Blass, in December 2017, had said that the next Huawei P-series is going to be an "imaging powerhouse." In his leaks, Blass claimed that the camera might feature a 40-megapixel camera with 3 rear lenses and 5x hybrid zoom. He had also added that there will be a 24-megapixel selfie camera packed in the handset. All the lens are expected to be co-developed with German camera manufacturer Leica.
The next smartphone in the Huawei P-series is also rumoured to ship with the 'Point Cloud Depth Camera' which is similar to Apple's 'TrueDepth Camera' used in the face ID feature. Huawei had first revealed the details of its upcoming Face ID rival at the launch of the Mate 10 in 2017. Thanks to this technology, the Huawei P20 may come with a notch at the top bezel similar to the iPhone X.
Meanwhile, one of the leaked images also shows off the iPhone X-like design. However, this design may also be limited to the premium variant as one of the leaked images show a case without the notch. Additionally, the other reports have indicated that the Huawei P20 family may ship with the Kirin 970 AI-powered processor and run Android Oreo.
It should be noted that as Huawei has not announced the smartphones officially, we should take these speculations with a pinch of salt, and wait for the event scheduled for next month.

Huawei is expected to announce two smartphones, P20 and P11 soon. Some details of these phones have been leaked now and it is seen that there are three models on the anvil. The leaked images also reveal that the phone has a 3-camera setup in the rear and there is a dual LED flash. The fingerprint sensor, however, is on the front.
Additional details on the camera specs indicate that at least one lens could be 40MP in size and it will permit 5X optical zoom. Huawei has an ongoing association with Leica and its Mate 10 smartphone sported a camera lens developed by Leica. The new P series phones will also see Leica’s imprints in the optics department.
Since only the physical features are being reported out of the leaks, the 3.5mm jack appears to be missing as well. The models being quoted are the Huawei P11/P20, P11/P20 Plus and P11/P20 Lite. In addition, a P11/P20 Pro which resembles the iPhone X is also likely to be added to the range soon.
Besides the above details, the source disclosing these leaks indicate that Huawei will be releasing the phones in different colour combinations and each model has a codename or a ‘nickname’ to it. ‘Emily’ is how the Huawei P20 is identified and will be sold in Ceramic Black and Twilight colours.
The P20 Plus model is code-named ‘Charlotte’ and the colour options for this phone will also remain the same Ceramic Black and Twilight colours.
And lastly, the P20 Lite, also called ‘Anne’ and Sakura Pink will be one of the three exclusive colour sin which this model will be sold in.
An aspect ratio of 18:9 as far as the display goes and a HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC processor are the only other information available about the new series of phones to be launched by Huawei, this March.
