Samsung Galaxy S9+ to have thinner bezels than Galaxy S8+, II Samsung to revive India’s tablet market this year , II One lucky Samsung Galaxy Note 8 owner receives internal test build of Android 8.0 Oreo via update, probably by accident

If reports are to be believed, it would seem that Samsung has randomly released the Android Oreo update to at least one Galaxy Note 8 user. This seems to be a bit odd since the Note 8 was never part of the Oreo-beta program, while the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus were.

The information was first spotted on Reddit and the user had a Note 8 with model number SM-N950F, which operates on the Exynos SoC. The screenshot shows the firmware version N950FXXU2CRA1.DM and according to a report by Sammobile, this appears to be Galaxy Note 8's internal test build of Android Oreo as it didn't look like a beta version.
The Reddit user says that he will be able to provide more information on the matter when he gets back to work tomorrow. In any case, this is good news for Note 8 users as a stable build for Android Oreo is out there and it shouldn't be long before other Note 8 users start receiving it.

However, it would seem that Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus users would get the first taste of Android Oreo. The beta build for Oreo on S8 and S8 Plus is set to expire on 15 January, according to the report, and it could be assumed that Samsung will then roll out the stable build for Android 8.0 Oreo for its 2017 Galaxy lineup.

Offering various products like computers, laptops, smartphones and tablets, Samsung has gained immense popularity in the Indian market over the time. Zooming in on smartphones and tablets, the company is known to offer its customers devices which fit into various price range.
With the sale of the tablets experiencing a dip  in the past quarters, the company is confident of its revival in the Indian market this year and with the launch of its first 4G tablet, Galaxy Tab A 7.0, in the sub-Rs 10,000 category. It is priced at Rs 9,500, features a 4000mAh battery, providing up to 9 hours of video playback.
Vishal Kaul, Director of Samsung India commented on the same. He said, “Tablets are more of companion devices and we have been focusing on the various use cases of this form factor. We are providing our customers a device that is the perfect blend of refined design, superior display great performance and non-stop entertainment. It caters to ‘on-the-go’ and ‘me-time’ needs of consumers, thereby acting as a perfect companion for their active lifestyle. We are confident that the Galaxy Tab A 7.0 will do well.”
Kaul said the consumer segment should see sales picking up with data becoming more affordable and increased availability of quality content.
The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ appear to be the worst kept secrets of Samsung as the upcoming flagship smartphones are hitting the rumor mills almost every other day.
Samsung Galaxy S9+ to have thinner bezels than Galaxy S8+

From the previously leaked reports, we have already seen that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones will have thin bezels. There were some reports suggesting that the bezels will be reduced drastically in order to increase the screen-to-body ratio. But the same was later ruled out by another report and the leaked renders of the device claiming that the device will arrive with a similar display as the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
Now, a Twitter-based source Steve has posted a photo showing the side-by-side comparison of the screen protectors of the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S9+. The image shows that there is barely any difference between the two. The noticeable difference is that the bottom bezel of the Galaxy S9+ is slightly narrower than that of the Galaxy S8+. The difference between both the bottom bezels is just a millimeter or two and not much. Given that the 18.5:9 Infinity Display panel has already made the device appear tall, another millimeter more to it will not make it much different.
Apart from the difference in the thickness of the bottom bezel, there appears to be not much difference between the two screen protectors. The side bezels are as thin as they were on the previous generation model.
Earlier this week, we came across a report suggesting that Samsung has filed for a trademark registering for the name DeX Pad. Notably, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were launched with the DeX Station that will give users a desktop-like experience on connecting the smartphone to a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Likewise, the DeX Pad is believed to be a wireless charging station kind of device that might let users enjoy the desktop-like experience without docking the device on the accessory.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones are expected to be unveiled at the MWC 2018 tech show in the next month in Barcelona and we get to know more details when these flagship smartphones are official.
