s is customary now in Overwatch, the Chinese Year Event is sure to be returning in the early months of 2018, bringing along with it a load of new Overwatch skins. Overwatch Chinese New Year 2018 Event Start Date

Back in 2017, the Chinese Year of the Rooster, the Overwatch event celebrating the new Lunar Year kicked off on January 24, a few days after the actually beginning of the Chinese New Year. This time however, the Chinese New Year 2018 (which is the Year of the Dog) doesn't begin until February 16. 

Therefore, it's plausible that Blizzard could hold back the Overwatch Chinese New Year 2018 event till around the same time in mid February, bringing in plenty of new Overwatch skins along with the event that celebrates the Year of the Dog. Overwatch Chinese New Year Skins

A new Overwatch event can only mean one thing: new Overwatch character skins. While we don't yet have any idea about new skins that will be featured when the Year of the Dog event eventually kicks off later in the year, we can show you the Overwatch character skins that made their way into the game with the 2017 version of the Chinese New Year event. These will most likely be returning this year. 

We've rounded up a complete list of all the Overwatch Chinese New Year 2017 event skins for you just below: 

One thing to keep in mind is that while any new Overwatch character skins introduced through the Chinese New Year 2018 event will only be found through loot boxes, the skins that were released alongside the event in 2017 should be purchasable with standard in-game currency. If the second Overwatch Halloween Terror event last year was any indicator, old skins making a return to the game should be obtainable for 3,000 in-game Overwatch coins. 

However the Chinese New Year event isn't the only thing that will be making a return to Overwatch at some point in 2018, as Blizzard also revealed that the PvE Uprising mode will be making a comeback at some unspecified point in the future. There's also a planned celebration for the Overwatch anniversary in May 2018, just like there was at the same time last year.
