Airtel is providing its postpaid and V-Fiber broadband customers a free 1-year subscription of Amazon Prime service on downloading the Airtel TV app. The promotion was previously available to only a few users, but has now been rolled out to all eligible customers. This promotional offer will not only provide users with yet another platform on which to watch movies and TV shows, but also help Airtel compete with Jio and its assorted movie streaming and live TV apps. It comes soon after the country’s biggest telecom operator made the Airtel TV app free for subscribers till June 2018.
The offer is available only to Airtel postpaid customers on myInfinity plans priced Rs. 499 and above, and to V-Fiber broadband users on plans priced above Rs. 1,000. An Airtel representative told Gadgets 360 that the partnership between the telecom giant and the e-commerce titan is till December this year. So a subscriber who avail the offer now will enjoy the services for 12 months. However, if a subscribers activates the free service in April, they will get only 9 months of free Prime usage. For those who are not aware, the Amazon Prime subscription comes with free delivery, access to Prime Video streaming, early access to deals in sales as well as exclusive deals.

How to claim Airtel's free Amazon Prime subscription offer

  1. To claim the offer, the eligible subscribers need to download the Airtel TV app from App Store or Play Store and login using the registered mobile number
  2. Once logged in, scroll down and you will see a banner of Amazon Prime
  3. Tap on the banner and a dialogue box will appear, with details of the Prime service. Tap on Activate Now
  4. Now you will be required to key in your Amazon account credentials
  5. Once the credentials are verified, your free 365-day Amazon Prime subscription will start, and you will be informed of the same via SMS and email
This offer is only for Amazon users who do not have a Prime membership. If you are already a subscriber, you will have to wait for the ongoing Prime subscription to end before you can avail the offer. Similarly, Amazon customers on free trial of the service can avail the offer, but then their subscription will be bound by Airtel’s rules.
According an Airtel SMS, the free Prime subscription will be provided as long as the customer continues on the current plan or upgrades to a plan of higher value. If they switch to a plan of lesser value, the subscription can be terminated. After the free 1-year subscription, the customer will be charged Rs. 999.The offer can be availed by new and existing Airtel postpaid customers.

Airtel has partnered with Amazon India to offer free subscription of Amazon Prime for one year to Airtel postpaid users with Infinity plan of Rs 499 or above. The offer can be availed by new and existing Airtel postpaid customers. Amazon Prime yearly  subscription costs Rs 999, and it gives users several benefits like access to over 11 million Prime eligible products as well as early and exclusive deals.
Do note that only users who choose Infinity plan worth Rs 499 or above will be eligible for the offer. Airtel’s Infinity Postpaid plans come with unlimited local, STD and national roaming calls along with data rollover facility and device protection. Airtel postpaid users can activate the offer for one year free subscription of Amazon Prime, exclusively through the Airtel TV app. People will then need to download Prime Video app on supported devices to begin streaming content.
Airtel V-Fiber Broadband customers are also eligible for Amazon Prime membership benefits. Users will need to download the Airtel TV app on their registered mobile number to avail the offer. Eligible plans can be checked on the company’s website.

As India is becoming one of the biggest binge watchers’ countries, the penetration of internet-streaming media is getting deeper, and cheaper, with new plans coming each day. This time, it is Amazon India with telecom provider Airtel Amazon Prime offer, in partnership with Amazon India.
Amazon India, which runs Amazon Prime Videos, has partnered with Airtel in a first of its kind offer in India, in which the telecom company will provide one-year free subscription at Rs 499 and above. “Airtel Postpaid customers with an Infinity plan of Rs.499 or above will get a one year Amazon Prime membership, worth Rs.999 and includes unlimited access to Amazon Prime Video, as part of their plan benefits,” Airtel said in a statement.
Besides, Amazon Prime Videos, the customers can also get access to over 11 million Prime-eligible products, early & exclusive deals, while shopping on Amazon.in. “We are thrilled to come together with Airtel to make Amazon Prime benefits directly available to more customers,” said Akshay Sahi, Director and Head of Amazon Prime India.
Airtel V-Fiber Broadband customers are also eligible for Amazon Prime membership benefits. Here’s how to activate the plan:
1. Upgrade to Rs 499 or above Infinity Postpaid plans, which come with large bundles of data, unlimited Local, STD and National Roaming calls, data rollover (up to 200 GB), and device protection.
2. Download the Airtel TV app from the App Store or Google Play get.airtel.tv/amazon. Open the Airtel TV app and click on the special Airtel – Amazon digital card (available only to eligible Airtel customers).
3. Sign up for Amazon Prime by registering a phone number and password – no credit card or additional information required since customers receive this at no additional cost from Airtel.
4. Download the Prime Video app and begin streaming a broad selection of the latest and exclusive movies, TV shows, stand-up comedies, kids’ programming and Amazon Prime Originals.
