Last week, OPPO launched its latest high-end smartphone OPPO R15 in China. Now, the company came up with a budget smartphone called OPPO A1 for the Chinese market. The OPPO A1 costs 1499 Yuan in China and will go on sale starting April 1st. While the listing mentioned the OPPO A1 to be available in Cherry Red and Dark Blue color options, there is also a Glossy finish White color variant in the promotional images.
It sports a 5.7-inch display on the front with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device comes powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Helio P23 (MT6763T) octa-core processor coupled with Mali G71 MP2 GPU. It includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expandable using the MicroSD card slot. OPPO is completely ditching the fingerprint sensor in favor of face unlock.
According to the listing, the device detects 128 points on the face for secure facial recognition. Talking about the cameras, the OPPO A1 sports a 13MP camera on the rear with LED flash and an 8MP front camera. The device is backed by a 3,180mAh non-removable battery and lacks the fast charging support. While the power button and sim card slot are on the right edge, the volume rocker is placed on the left edge.
Since the device comes with minimal bezels, the company is offering on-screen navigation buttons. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. As seen with the earlier launched OPPO A-series devices, the new OPPO A1 might also launch in the other Asian markets in the coming weeks.

Oppo R15

The Chinese phone maker brand Oppo has announced the release of Oppo R15 and Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition in China which will work on Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box. The recently announced Oppo R15 will be available in color options like Snow White, Hot Red, and Star Purple colors and is priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 30,800) while Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition in Dream Mirror Red version will be available around CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 33,900) and its Ceramic Edition is priced at CNY 3,499 (approximately Rs. 35,900). These two models will go on sale in China from 1st April next month and is already available for pre-orders now. The announcements and launch details in India are yet to be revealed.

The upcoming models Oppo R15 and Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition will boast AI Intelligent Scene Recognition Technology that can recognize 16 scenes and 120 multi-scene combinations.It is equipped with a built-in AI chip which allows the user to take AI portraits and this chip has an efficiency to scan 296 feature points on a face through a preloaded AI smart beauty feature.The phones are provided with a fingerprint sensor on the rear end. The Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Ceramic Edition comes with a ceramic back whereas the other two models have glass backs.

Talking about the specifications part, both the phones offer dual-sim(Nano) support and come with a 6.28-inch (1080×2280 pixels) full-HD+ OLED display with 19:9 aspect ratio. They run on Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.0 out of the box. Coming to the optical quality, both the phones have a dual rear camera setup and a 20MP front shooter lens with a f/2.0 aperture. They come with 128 GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.
Now, coming to the major distinctions between both these phones, Oppo R15 is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 SoC, paired with ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU along with 6GB of RAM. On the other hand, Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition is powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with Adreno 512 GPU along with 6GB of RAM. Talking about the camera quality, Oppo R15 incorporates a 16-megapixel Sony IMX519 primary image sensor with f/1.7 aperture along with a 5-MP secondary sensor on the rear end and supports EIS for perfect shot, whereas, Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition boasts a 20-megapixel secondary image sensor along with a 16-megapixel primary image sensor- a perfect delight for shutterbugs. Coming to the battery provided, Oppo R15 is packed with a 3450 mAh battery whereas the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition comes with a 3400 mAh battery- common these days. The good thing is both the phones support Oppo’s VOOC Flash Charging technology. The available connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. Both these phones roughly weigh around 175 grams.
The Oppo F7 India launch event is set for Monday, March 26, and will see the launch of yet another smartphone with design similar to iPhone X, down to the notch. Some features and specifications of the new Oppo F7 have already been revealed officially in a press note, but there’s a lot more that recent leaks have given away. Of course, the Oppo F7 price in India and release date remain a mystery so far, which will be announced at the launch event. For those unaware, Oppo’s sister compare Vivo launched the V9 smartphone just a day ago, featuring a notch and a similar design.

Oppo F7 specifications

Oppo F7 will have a 6.2-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) Super Full Screen display panel with aspect ratio of 19:9 and 89.09 percent screen-to-body ratio. A recent leak says the smartphone will be powered by the oct-core MediaTel Helio P60 chip (four Cortex A73 cores at 2GHz and four Cortex A53 cores at 2GHz). It is said to have the Mali-G72MP3 GPU and 6GB of RAM. For optics, the smartphone is said to have a 16-megapixel camera on the back, with f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording, and dual-tone LED flash. And for selfies, the smartphone will have a 25-megapixel camera in front.
On the software front, the Oppo F7 appears to run ColorOS 5.0 with features such as facial unlock and screen recording. There is also a rear-facing fingerprint sensor and connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS/ A-GPS. The battery capacity of the smartphone is said to be 3400mAh, and the handset is claimed to last up to 15 hours on a single charge.

Oppo F7 design, features

Going by the teasers, Oppo F7 will feature a design reminiscent of the iPhone X. The notch is rather conspicuous in the marketing material pushed by the company so far, as are the bezel-less display and rounded corners.
Coming to the features of the smartphone, photography fans will get AI selfie, AI Beauty Technology 2.0, and Real-time HDR modes in the camera. There will also be Cover Shot and AR Stickers, which was also seen on the Vivo V9 handset. For navigation, buyers will have to use gestures, and there will be an App-in-App view for multitasking.
The ticker on the Oppo India website says the launch event will start at 2:30pm IST on Monday, March 26. The event will be live streamed, so fans can catch the action in real time. Oppo has roped in cricketers Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Ravichandran Ashwin as brand ambassadors.
