Italian Supercar maker Lamborghini is all set to launch the much-awaited Urus SUV in India today. The new Lamborghini Urus is the first SUV to come out with the mark of the raging bull, which alone makes it quite a special launch. The Urus is also one of few products that Lamborghini has launched in India within such a short period from its global debut, which happened a little over a month ago on December 4, 2017. Italian supercar manufacturer, Lamborghini is all set to launch its all-new Super SUV – the Lamborghini Urus in India. The Urus Super SUV was first unveiled in December last year and will be manufactured at the Lamborghini’s facility in Sant’Agata Bolognese in Italy. The Urus will be positioned between the Huracan and the Lamborghini Aventador S and is expected to be priced around INR 3 crore (ex-showroom India). The Urus is the first SUV from the Italian carmaker after the Lamborghini LM002, which was launched over 30 years back. The Lamborghini Urus will compete against the Bentley Bentayga, Lexus LX and the Range Rover Sport SVAutobiograbhy. The Urus shares its MLB Evo platform with the Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7 and the Bentley Bentayga. The overall styling of the Lamborghini Urus takes inspiration from Lamborghin is of the past which includes Countach and the LM002. The main highlights of the SUV are a large inverted U shaped front grille featuring hexagonal black inserts, an air dam with 4 slats, arrow-shaped LED tail lights and more. On the inside, the new Urus SUV will get 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital cockpit, 2 touch screen interfaces and a drive mode selector on the centre console houses christened as the Adaptive Network Intelligent Management (ANIMA). The Urus SUV will also sport a proper rear seat as well as bigger boot space.
Under the hood, the new SUV will draw its power source from a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that can make 641 BHP of maximum power @ 6,000 rpm with 850 Nm of peak torque @ 2,250-4,500 rpm. The unit will come mated to an all-wheel drive system along with a limited-slip central differential. The Lamborghini Urus is capable of accelerating to three figure mark in 3.6 seconds prior hitting the top speed of 305 kmph.
The forthcoming SUV will be an essential player for the car maker as far as the global sales are concerned. The SUV could triple Lamborghini’s sales in the domestic market. The company is also focusing on the network expansion in order to cater the increasing needs of the buyers. The Italian car maker will increase the number of dealerships from three to five by next year as per the strategic plan
